Engineering Scope & Objectives
Scan-to-BIM retrofit modeling and structural framing coordination for a deep-cut underground metro interchange station. The scope included as-built laser scanning of the existing tunnel bore, integration of new platform edge door (PED) systems, and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) for diaphragm wall construction adjacent to live operational tunnels.

The interchange station required construction immediately adjacent to a live operational metro tunnel carrying 800,000 daily passengers. Any structural vibration exceeding 2mm/s PPV (Peak Particle Velocity) would trigger an automatic safety shutdown. Additionally, the existing tunnel geometry deviated up to 45mm from the original design drawings, making accurate as-built data critical for the new structural connections.
BIMVEDH Technical Implementation
BIMVEDH performed high-density terrestrial LiDAR scanning (1,200 scan positions at 3mm point spacing) to capture the existing tunnel geometry. We registered the point clouds in Leica Cyclone and authored LOD 350 Revit models with ±5mm geometric accuracy. For the diaphragm wall construction, we created Civil 3D subsurface utility models identifying 23 previously unmapped underground services (water mains, telecom ducts, and storm drains). The 4D construction phasing model in Synchro simulated all heavy plant movements to ensure zero encroachment on the operational tunnel safety exclusion zone.
